Downtown Library to Offer Free Workshops for Business Owners Looking to Increase Web Traffic

MANATEE COUNTY, FL (June 6, 2016) – In its continuing efforts to help small business owners through resources and programs, starting this month, Manatee County Public Libraries will offer four free workshops designed for business owners to increase their web traffic.


Presented by Manasota SCORE, a non-profit resource partner of the Small Business Administration, the workshops will be given the last Tuesday of June, July, August and September from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m at Downtown Central Library.


The planned workshops are as follows:


June 28: Native Advertising Best Practices, presented by Mical Johnson, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) expert and owner of Omen Interactive: Google strategies and lead generation


July 26: Search Engine Optimization, presented by Scott Gonnello, author of SEO Common Mistakes: Advice for building a proper foundation for search engineers and content development


August 30: Social Media Marketing, presented by Barbara Langdon of consulting firm Market Momentum: How to add new channels to your social media marketing plan


September 27: Mergent Intellect for Business, presented by Information Librarians, a Dun & Bradstreet  database: An overview of this comprehensive database that provides U.S and international business data, industry news, facts and figures, executive contact information and the ability to access industry profiles


Manasota SCORE Chapter Chair, Dennis Zink, said the organization is pleased to offer the expertise of these great speakers to help business owners improve their online marketing skills.


“Internet  marketing is crucial to so many small businesses, and SCORE volunteers are dedicated to helping businesses succeed,” said Zink.


Ericka Dow, Information Services Supervisor of Downtown Library said they have made a concerted effort to offer more business workshops.


“The library continues to develop more services geared towards businesses and entrepreneurs, and these workshops demonstrate our commitment to supporting local economic development,” said Dow.


While preregistration is not required, the Library’s Information Services team asks that those interested go to so they can make sure a spot is saved as seats are limited.
