Spatial Data Standards

Compliance with the Spatial Data Standards will facilitate data sharing, integration, and compatibility within the GIS System. Metadata Standards

Metadata is known as "data about the data". It usually tells who created the data, when, how, and why. Compliance with Metadata standards will facilitate data sharing, integration and compatibility among users of the county's GIS. The objective of these standards is to provide guidelines that enable the creation of complete and consistent metadata for GIS data by Manatee County's GIS users and their contractors.   View/download Manatee County's metadata standards.

 

GIS Data Delivery Standards

Compliance with Data Delivery standards will facilitate data sharing, integration and compatibility among users of the county's GIS System. Street Centerline Data Standards

Understanding Manatee County's street centerline data will assist the user of this data in using it to its greatest potential. The data is used widely from general cartography to 9-1-1 dispatch. The standard not only ensures consistency and accuracy of the data, but communicates the levels of consistency and accuracy to the users. Hydrographic Data Standards

Understanding Manatee County's hydrographic data standards will assist the user of the county's hydrographic data sets in its proper use for creating various map products. Map Elements Standard
