Have a Manatee County service request? There’s an app for that.
MANATEE COUNTY, FL (June 11, 2014) – See a broken sidewalk? Traffic light not working? Litter along the right of way? For Manatee County residents, visitors and business owners, now there’s an app for that.
Manatee County Government has launched its first request for service app, MyManatee Mobile, offering smartphone users a brand new way to interact with local government. The app is free, easy to use and available for the iPhone from the Apple App Store or Google Play for Android devices by searching for “MyManatee Mobile.”
The app gives users a place to call the Citizen’s Action Center, check the County Calendar for events, read latest County news and announcements and follow County’s social media family.
“Manatee residents and visitors can easily access County services faster and more conveniently than ever,” said Chad Butzow, a Manatee Public Works Deputy Director who headed up the project. “This technology also provides the County with ‘real-time’ information and requests for services which will improve our responsiveness to situations as they occur.”
MyManatee Mobile users will be able to report a host of common requests for service such as curb and gutter or drainage problems, litter issues or mowing requests. Users can initiate a new request, enter an address, take a new photo or select one from the app's library, enter a description and enter contact information, if desired. The mobile app will generate a tracking number that allows the user to receive updates on the request.
