Manatee County accepting applications for Tourist Development Council

MANATEE COUNTY, FL (June 7, 2016) – Applications are now being accepted for three vacancies on the Tourist Development Council (TDC), a citizens advisory committee that makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on the expenditures of Tourist Tax Revenues.

The TDC is comprised of nine volunteer members who make recommendations to the County Commission concerning the effective operation of the projects set forth in the Tourist Development Plan and the uses for which Tourist Development Tax revenues may be spent. The TDC meets on the third Monday of every other month at 9 a.m. at various locations throughout Manatee County. 


Vacant positions include:


Four year terms for two elected municipal officials, including one from Bradenton, the largest municipality in the County; and


One owner/operator/General Manager of a short term rental accommodation in Manatee County that is subject to the 5 percent resort tax in Manatee County. The term ends June 30, 2017 and will fill the seat of a current TDC member leaving the Council.
