Dan Schlandt was named as a Deputy County Administrator in December, 2006. In addition to general support to the County Administrator, his primary areas of responsibility are in the areas of growth and development including planning, building, infrastructure planning, public works and economic development. 

 

Schlandt worked for almost 20 years in the Manatee County Financial Management Department serving as Budget Manager and administering the county’s five year capital improvement program before moving to the County Administrator’s office. He received his Bachelor’s degree and Master of Business Administration degree from the University of South Florida.

 

Schlandt is a member of the International City and County Management Association and the Florida City and County Management Association and serves on the Economic Development Council of the Manatee County Chamber of Commerce. He has been involved in a number of coaching and administration activities in youth sports for many years.

Cheri Coryea has 28 years of experience, 26 in management with Manatee County. She has held the position of Department Director of Neighborhood Services for the past 10 years, recently overseeing the merger of the Community Services Department into the Neighborhood Services Department and serving as an Acting Deputy County Administrator.

Cheri has led the development of several key County initiatives including the creation of the Economic Development Incentive Program (EDI), Health Care for the medically needy, Children’s Services Tax, Manatee Millennial Movement (M3), Community Development Block Grant, forming the Southwest Tax Increment Financing District, Rubonia Community Center, Norma Lloyd Park Development, and author, “Voices”, (Ten Year Plan to End Chronic Homelessness).

Managing an annual budget of over $44 million including federal, state and local grants, Cheri focuses on building community relationships and interacting with the over 150 not for profit agencies, hospitals and intergovernmental organizations that formally collaborate with Manatee County to serve our citizens. Cheri oversees the operation of a unique set of responsibilities in the department including Probation, Veterans Services, Aging Services, Human Services, Criminal Justice Liaison, Health Care, Children’s Services, Neighborhood Connections and the award winning Library system.

Cheri is a 2016 A.C.E. coin recipient, 2012 Tampa Bay Business Journal, Business Women of the Year, (Government category), 2011 American Association of University Women – Manatee Chapter “Making Great Strides in Government” winner, 2009 NAACP Government Humanitarian award and the 1997 Manatee Community Council for Children Child Advocate of the Year.
