The Port Improvement District provides a financing mechanism to (a) pay a portion of the costs of reducing Port Authority debt obligations, (b) provide port related economic development within and adjacent to the PDEZ, (c) infrastructure improvements within the PDEZ and FIG, and (d) capital improvements to Port Manatee.
