Garbage and Recycling

No Garbage or Recycling collection on Thanksgiving Day Thursday, November 24, 2022

Residential garbage and recycling collection will be as follows:

  • Thursday's collection will be collected on Friday, November 25th
  • Friday's collection will be collected on Saturday, November 26th
Note: If you are a resident of Trailer Estates, Bradenton Beach, Holmes Beach or Anna Maria, please check with your waste haulers for your holiday schedule.

Attention Manatee County residents:

Hurricane Ian Recovery Efforts: In order to be fully eligible for reimbursement by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), projects, including debris collection, must be completed within established timeframes.

In attempts to have all debris collected WITHIN THAT TIMEFRAME, all residents must have their debris at the curb for collection by November 9 (for residents in Myakka that deadline is being extended to November 16).

After the deadline, any debris will need to be properly prepared as yard waste in order for it to be picked up by the garbage haulers on Wednesdays.

Your cooperation and support are greatly appreciated as we continue to recover from this tragic storm.

  • Be aware that recycling carts that also include items that are not recyclable such as garbage or yard waste will not be collected.
  • All collections are now on their normal schedule.
  • If not picked up by 7pm on your collection day, please have items back out by 6am the next morning.

Debris Removal has begun and there are rules you need to know to ensure collection.

  • Canned, bagged or tied storm debris will be collected as yard waste.
  • Loose debris that is properly separated will be collected by contractors with special trucks.
  • All debris needs to be 3 feet away from any mailboxes, backflows, hydrants, etc.,
  • It must not be under power lines or low hanging trees
  • It must not be blocked.
  • Roofing, furniture, and all fencing go in one pile, but it must be away from garbage and yard debris.
  • Debris cannot be collected from business and community properties. These entities should contact their insurance company for proper removal.
  • The collection process is long and tedious. Please be patient.

Unincorporated Manatee County residents we are experiencing a delay on delivering recycling carts for new residents or swap outs due to damage. Unfortunately, due to a shortage of employees and manufacturer delays, we apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for understanding.
