Manatee County Parks and Natural Resources Department, in partnership with the Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources and the City of North Port Parks and Recreation Department, is hosting its 32nd Annual Gulf Coast Games for Life.  The Florida Senior Games Series is a multi-sport event program for adults 50 and over.  The series consists of events throughout Florida leading up to the Florida Senior Games in December.  The Florida Senior Games continues to grow and provide fun, fellowship, fitness, and competition for Florida's fastest growing age group.  Registration has been extended through January 20 online at scgov.net/parks or by phone call (941) 861-7275.

Our counties remain committed to providing opportunities for active adults to engage in a healthy lifestyle through programs such as our Gulf Coast Games for Life Week, which runs from January 16 and January 30 - February 7, 2021.

This year there are 16 different activities that participants can choose from including bag toss (corn hole), basketball shooting, bocce ball, bowling, cycling, golf, pickleball, race walk and power walk, racquetball, 5k road race, rowing and paddle, shuffleboard, swimming, table tennis, target shooting, and track and field.

This event serves over 500 athletes annually.

Participants are urged to please follow the CDC's current guidelines.  If you are ill, stay home.  Practice social distancing.  Face masks are encouraged when social distancing is not possible.
