Wreaths Across America 2021 LogoManatee is one of the over 2,800 locations throughout the United States, at sea and abroad that will be holding a live wreath-laying ceremony on the graves of Veterans Saturday, December 18.

Sponsored by American Legion Post 325 Ellenton, will begin at 11 AM at Mansion Memorial Park, located at 1400 36th Ave E, Ellenton, 34222, and will continue at Parrish Cemetery, located at 12305 Parrish Cemetery Road, Parrish 34219. Over 1,500 Veterans are interred at Manatee Memorial, and there are approximately 75 at Parrish Cemetery.

All members of the public are encouraged to attend, and event organizers recommend that people arrive 15 minutes early to find a parking spot and bring a lawn chair if needed. 

The special Guest of Honor will be World War II Army Air Corps First Lieutenant Samuel P. Scott of Palmetto. The Posting of the Colors will be conducted by the Parrish Community High School JROTC Bulls Battalion Color Guard. Palmetto Mayor Shirley Groover Bryant will give the welcome address.
