Road construction, weather, special events — a variety of circumstances may cause MCAT to temporarily detour a route from its normal path. MCAT now posts notice of detours on its infotainment system on board buses and at the transfer stations. Bus stops directly affected by detours will continue to have detour notices posted. Detour notices can also be found in MCAT’s MyStop Mobile smartphone application along with real-time bus arrival data.
Bus Shelters
Since 2014, Manatee County Area Transit has changed all our buses, bus shelters and bus benches to the County’s new color scheme. Areas where bus stops have been improved include U.S. 41 (14th Street West), US 301 in Palmetto and Ellenton, 9th Avenue East in Bradenton, 27th Street East, Cortez Road, Manatee Avenue and many other minor route corridors.
