World History Collection

What is it?

  • World History Collection features well-rounded coverage of events in world history and scholarly work established in the field that will be of interest to novice historians and advanced researchers alike.

  • It provides access to many full-text history journals, magazines, and more and is updated regularly.

Getting Started

Access World History Collection through any web browser:

  1. Go to the library’s website and click on the orange Research & Learning button and then on the Articles, Research & Information button.

  2. From the A-Z Databases list, you can use the subject drop-down menu to filter the list by History resources or find World History Collection alphabetically. In the sign-in box, enter your library card number where it asks for a password. 

  3. Note: You may sign in with your own Google or Microsoft account if you would like to upload articles to your Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive, but it is not required to use the database. 

Using World History Collection

  1. Use World History Collection by 1) typing your query in the Search field, 2) choosing Advanced Search for more search options or 3) using the Topic Finder, Subject Guide Search, or Publication Search buttons on the home page. The Publication Search includes a browsable list of all the publications found in the database. 

  2. Each article's webpage provides publication information at the top. You also have the option to listen to an audio version of the article or download the mp3 recording by clicking the "Listen" button found below the publication information. The explore column will show you more content related to the article you are viewing. 

  3. The cite button allows you to create a citation for the article in multiple citation styles. The Highlights and Notes feature allows you to make and save annotations within an article. You may e-mail, download, and print a pdf of the article as well as upload it to your Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive.
