The Business Incubation Center (BIC) is a meeting space free of charge, available to entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations, associations, government agencies, and the business community.

Collections

Our Business Incubation Center and library collections include books and online research tools geared for the needs of business owners, entrepreneurs, organizations, and individual investors. The library’s print and online collections include topics such as accounting, marketing, business history, company information, demographics, finance, human resources, industry information, investment, management, manufacturing, market research, real estate, small business, and statistics.

Services

The Information Services staff is available to assist you with using our business collections. In addition, you may also make an appointment with a librarian for a one-on-one research consultation, particularly using Mergent Intellect. If your organization or business is interested in learning more about Manatee Libraries' variety of business resources, ask us about scheduling a presentation at your business or office. The BIC is equipped with a large screen monitor which will allow for laptop or mobile device presentations, and a large whiteboard.

Information Services staff can also recommend local services such as free business mentoring from SCORE, SBDC, and local business incentives via the county’s Redevelopment and Economic Opportunity Department.

Reserving the Business Incubation Center

To reserve the room or schedule a research appointment or presentation, please contact Information Services at 941-748-5555 ext 6309 or email us at reference@mymanatee.org.

Room reservations for the BIC are intended for businesses, organizations, entrepreneurs, start-ups, boards, etc. Please be prepared to share your credentials in order to reserve the room. The room is intended for collaborations, meetings, training, and co-working; not for conducting commercial business such as sales calls or production. Please be advised that this room is not soundproof. You will be able to hear noise from outside the room, and outside will be able to hear you.

Please note, the BIC is not intended as a study room. If you need to reserve a study room, it is first come, first serve and there are 5 available at the Central Library. Please ask library staff at the public desks to reserve a study room. See the Study Room Policy.
