Who says fitness and health can't be fun for kids? Manatee Libraries is launching a new three-day boot camp for kids ages 10 to 15 that will keep them jumping, dancing, talking and laughing so much that they won't even realize they are getting fit.

A mixture of activities, including Pop Fit and line dancing, nutrition, healthy meal prep and snacking presentations, along with a cooking demo, will be provided.

This new program takes place on three days at Downtown Library on Tuesday, July 16; Thursday, July 18; and Friday, July 19, from 10 AM to 1 PM.

Schedule (as of June 28):

Tuesday, July 16:

  • Pop Fit with Carol Klein, 10 to 11:30 AM
  • Nutrition with Natalie Garcia of RD Nutrition Group

Thursday, July 18:

  • Line Dancing With Jean Marclay, 10 to 11 AM
  • Emotional Eating Workshop with Natalie Garcia of RD Nutrition Group, 11 AM to 1 PM

Friday, July 19:
  • Stretching & Exercise Challenge with Julie Dracket
  • Lunch, 11:15 to 12 PM
  • Dance Already (video dance games on the big screen in auditorium), 12 to 1 PM

Refreshments included each day, and a healthy lunch will be provided on the last day of the camp. This event is made possible by the Friends of Central Library.

Downtown Library is located at 1301 Barcarrota Blvd. W., Bradenton 34205.
