Editing the Sidebar

The left sidebar automatically pulls in the page's child pages or sibling pages.

If there are pages underneath the page ("children"), these pages will show. If there are no children, the sidebar will show all the pages on the same level as that page ("siblings" under the same "parent" page).

Please note, all change you make to the sidebar below will carry down to all the child pages of that page (unless those pages have their own child pages).

Change the order of pages in the sidebar

To change the order pages appear in the sidebar:

  • Go to Page Options > Page Order in the black toolbar
  • Drag and drop the pages until they match your preferred order.
  • Click Update Page Order

Add an additional page or link on the sidebar

You can add a link to any internal page (whether its within your department or not) or external site in the sidebar.

Go to +Page > External Link Page in the black toolbar.

  • Title - Name of the page/link as you'd like it to appear in the sidebar
  • Name - Should autofill when you tab to this field
  • Web Address
    • For pages within the site: Click on the dropdown that says "http://" and select the blank option at the top; then paste in the URL as it begins after mymanatee.org, starting with the backslash (for example: /departments/utilities/trash) - This link should never include something like /cms/One.aspx? etc.
    • For external websites: Paste in the link to the site, starting with what begins after http:// (DO NOT include http://or https:// in the box or you will break the link)
  • Page Type - Always leave External Url selected
  • Option
    • Keep Open the external link page in existing window if you are linking to another page within the site
    • Choose Open the external link page in new window if you are linking to a document or external website

Leave Category and Featured Image blank and click the Create Page button.
