About the Water Division

The Manatee County Water Program provides retail potable (drinking) water service to 147,298 accounts throughout the County, as well as seasonal residents and visitors in unincorporated Manatee County and the cities of Bradenton Beach, Holmes Beach, and Anna Maria, and wholesale service to the neighboring communities of Palmetto, Longboat Key, Bradenton, and Sarasota County. This large and complex program is responsible for the supply, security, quality, operation, and maintenance of the potable system and the treatment of an annual daily average of about 47 million gallons of water per day.

The Potable Water Program includes the protection, quality control, operation, and maintenance of the entire system, from the water source to a customer’s tap. The drinking water program operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Their goal is to be “always on, always safe, always affordable.”
