The Parks and Grounds Division provides maintenance to over 35 parks, 4 beach locations, 9 boat ramps, 42 Board of County Commissioner and Constitutional facilities, 1,700 acres of active park properties and a growing list of over 90 county medians. The Parks and Grounds Division is responsible for maintaining over 100 athletic fields; tennis, pickleball and basketball courts; restrooms: picnic pavilions, sidewalks, park signage, landscape beds, trees, playground equipment, skate parks, fences, boat ramps, irrigation systems, multi-use trails, parking lots and lighting of various types.
Specific accomplishments include:
- Converting all athletic lighting fields to LED technology
- Renovated and maintain over 90 County medians
- Tree City USA certification for last 15 years
- Built multiple new soccer fields
- Planted over 500 trees in the last 2 years
- Assisted in the design and build of the county’s first all-inclusive playground for children of all abilities
