This week, our Grant Supervisor for CDBG-DR, Edrick Sweeting, traveled to Fort Lauderdale to attend the HUD DRGR Conference held on August 27 and 28. The event was part of HUD’s ongoing effort to support communities in learning how to use the Disaster Recovery Grant Reporting (DRGR) system.

This conference followed a similar session held in Clearwater earlier this summer, but with a new focus on hands-on learning. Attendees had the chance to work directly in the DRGR system using computers provided at the venue. HUD trainers walked participants through real-world examples, helping them better understand how to enter and manage data.

Edrick shared that the experience was especially helpful thanks to the interactive format and the opportunity to ask questions in real time. The training offered a clearer picture of how the DRGR system works and how it will support our team’s efforts in tracking and reporting grant activities.

We’re also excited to share that all administrators within Lasting Manatee have access to the DRGR system. This marks an important step forward in preparing for future reporting and project updates.

To continue building our skills, we’ll be engaging in additional internal training early this September. These sessions will help our team strengthen their understanding of the system and get ready for upcoming reporting deadlines.
