Manatee County has been allocated $252,711,000.00 from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Relief (CDBG-DR) program to rebuild areas impacted by Hurricanes Debby, Helene, and Milton.

For this grant, Manatee County has created “Lasting Manatee,” a program with a dedicated team to research unmet needs, engage in community outreach for suggestions of projects, and develop an Action Plan for use of CDBG-DR funds. The plan will require approval from the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners and HUD prior to the county taking receipt of the $252M.
