Manatee County and the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) have entered into an agreement to establish the Suncoast Prosper Scholarship Fund, an initiative designed to expand access to postsecondary education and workforce training for Manatee County students.
Through the agreement, Manatee County will provide up to $7.5 million to support eligible students graduating from Manatee County public, charter, alternative and private schools, as well as qualifying home education programs, beginning with the 2027 and 2028 graduating classes. Funding may be used toward tuition, fees and other eligible educational costs at SCF after other grants and scholarships are applied.
The program is intended to help remove financial barriers to education, increase credential and degree completion, strengthen pathways into high-need careers and support a skilled local workforce.
