Manatee County’s Natural Resources Department serves as the delegated authority for administering, monitoring, and inspecting groundwater well construction and permitting in accordance with the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD). These responsibilities are carried out to safeguard the quality, integrity, and long-term sustainability of groundwater aquifer resources in Southwest Florida.
