Criminal Justice Policy Coordination serves as a representative in matters pertaining to public safety, criminal justice, mental health, and substance abuse to safeguard the interests of the County. It facilitates the coordination of criminal justice administration for both youth and adult criminal justice systems and related programs. Key activities include the development and management of Justice Assistance Grants (JAG), provision of crisis-oriented services, creation and administration of human services agreements in collaboration with local agencies, and support for the Public Safety Coordinating Council and other boards assigned to the County Commissioners concerning criminal justice matters.
Adult Human Services supports nonprofit agencies that receive investments for Adult Services aimed at helping individuals achieve independence and self-sufficiency. The initiative seeks to prevent long-term reliance on public resources while fostering collaborations among all levels of government, the private sector, charitable organizations, and service providers.
