Manatee County Government has intensified its daily beach raking efforts along the shores of Anna Maria Island, and County staff have begun taking additional steps to address red tide before it reaches local beaches. To date Manatee County has avoided the worst impacts from an early summer red tide bloom, but County leaders are taking steps to ensure Manatee beaches remain clear from debris.

Manatee County officials are urging local residents to take steps now to be ready for the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERA) that will assist renters who are delinquent on rent and who need financial assistance as a result of financial losses from the COVID-19. Manatee County will be partnering with non-profit agencies to provide direct utility assistance to renters in the near future; please check the county website for participating non-profit agencies.

Manatee County Administrator Cheri Coryea today presented County Commissioners with a $710.7 million net budget for next year. The budget is a slight reduction from the current year due to a host of unknowns presented by the global pandemic, but it includes funding for new Sheriff's Office deputies, two new ambulance units and a host of long-needed transportation improvements throughout Manatee County.
