Kids playing in the career section Thanks to the Manatee Library Foundation, children ages 2 to 5, now have a new play place just for them and their caretakers: LITtle Discovery Center.

Located at 321 15th Street West, Bradenton, next to the Downtown Central Library, the facility (formerly known as the library annex), was recently renovated to create a bright and inviting play areas.

Literacy Coordinator, Jodie Williams, selected games, toys and books to give children a learning experience. The center offers six thematic learning spaces: Critical Thinking With Our Favorite Characters, Transportation, Careers, Animals of the World, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and Home Sweet Home. Each focuses on literacy, numeracy and critical-thinking skills.

Parents can receive guidance from a teacher or children’s librarian on how to make the best use of resources available at the Center. This is Manatee Libraries' latest effort to provide support and commitment to the Suncoast for Grade-Level Reading.

LITtle Discovery Center is open weekdays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 9 AM to 1 PM, and Tuesdays and Thursdays, Noon to 4 PM. For more information, please call 941-748-5555, x3820.
