Computer & Tech Training

All in-person programs, events and meeting room use are cancelled until further notice. See below for online programs. 

We have free computer, smartphone, and eBook classes at our libraries, currently all virtual. Always check the Calendar of Events and your branch for additional classes. 

The library offers online resources, books, and DVDs that can help you learn about basic and advanced computing.  Our online resource Lynda.com includes videos and tutorials in software and design. You will need your library card number and PIN to access Lynda.com. If you do not have a library card, see our Library Cards page for information on how to obtain one.

JANUARY

Windows 10 Basics: Mon 1/11, 10:30am

Learn the basics of using your Windows 10 computer or laptop such how to use the Start menu, add icons to the toolbar, and find your files and folders. The class will be taught by Microsoft employees.

New Device Drop-In: Wed 1/13, 1-3pm

Drop-in for tips on setting up your new gadgets including your smartphone, tablet, or Kindle. This class will be taught by Kaitlynn.

Android Basics: Thur 1/14, 2pm

Learn the basics of using your Android smartphone or tablet to organize and download apps, make calls and send texts, and do basic voice commands. This class will be taught by Angela.

Password Managers Overview: Tues 1/19, 2pm

Learn the basics and benefits of password managers such as LastPass, as well as password managers already built into your smartphone or computer. Free and subscription options will be discussed. This class will be taught by Stephanie.

iPhone Basics: Thur 1/21, 2pm

Learn the basics of using your iPhone or iPad to organize and download apps, make calls and send texts, and do basic voice commands. This class will be taught by Stephanie.

Microsoft Excel Intermediate: Mon 1/25, 2pm

Learn intermediate skills for Microsoft Excel to maximize your spreadsheets. The class will be taught by Microsoft employees.


FEBRUARY

Consumer Reports: Thur, 2/9, 2pm

Learn how to access and search Consumer Reports for free from the library. Also learn how to email and print the reviews you need. This class will be taught by Stephanie.

Tech Terminology: Wed 2/10, 1pm

Learn basic tech terminology for computers, phones, tablets, and other smart devices. This class will be taught by Kaitlynn.

Android Settings Overview: Fri 2/12, 2pm

Learn about helpful settings for your Android phone or tablet such as how to update your device, turn notifications on and off, and customize your background. This class will be taught by Angela.

Windows 10 Settings and Security: Wed 2/17, 2pm

Learn the basics of your Windows 10 computer or laptop’s settings and built-in security features. The class will be taught by Microsoft employees.

OneDrive Cloud Storage for Windows 10: Mon 2/22, 2pm

Learn how to use OneDrive Cloud Storage to save and access documents and photos on your Windows 10 computer and mobile device. Also learn how to automatically save documents and access previous versions of documents. This class will be taught by Microsoft employees.

Learn how to safeguard your valuable personal information and guidelines for safer online financial transactions. The class will be taught by Microsoft employees.

Google Workspaces Basics: Wed 3/10, 1pm

Learn the basics of Google’s free products including Gmail, Drive, Docs, and Sheets. These products are comparable to Microsoft Word and Excel. This class will be taught by Kaitlynn.

Outlook for Email: Mon 3/15, 2pm

Learn tips and tricks for using Outlook Email on your Windows 10 computer and mobile device. The class will be taught by Microsoft employees.

Android Photography: Fri 3/19, 2pm

Learn how to take and organize photos and videos on your Android phone or tablet. This class will be taught by Angela.

iPhone Photography: Mon 3/22, 2pm

Learn how to take and organize photos and videos on your iPhone or iPad. This class will be taught by Stephanie.

Health Apps for Smartphones: Mon 3/29, 2pm
