Manatee Libraries

Don't have a library card? Get a temporary virtual card and start accessing ebooks, eaudiobooks and more now!

In accordance with The President’s Coronavirus Guidelines for America, which recommend avoiding gatherings of more than 10 people, Manatee County Government facilities, including Manatee Libraries, are closed to the public for walk-in services until further notice. Library staff will continue to work Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. Please call any of our branches or contact us through Ask a Librarian. For the latest local updates on COVID-19, text ManateeReady to 888-777 and go to mymanatee.org/coronavirus

 Please also note that:

  • Fines and materials for anything due after March 17 have continued to be suspended indefinitely until we reopen.
  • Library material donations have continued to be suspended indefinitely until we reopen.
  • Patrons can still place material holds (including ILL), but they will not be pulled and made available until we reopen.
  • Holds will still be there when we reopen.
  • Book drops are open, but we encourage patrons to wait to return their library materials  (remember there are no new fines and we extended due dates!).

All of us at Manatee Libraries wish you good health. We are looking forward to serving you in person again soon. Please continue to reach out to us via phone, text or email should you have any library-related questions. Please also check back often for new resources and information added on our Digital Resources to Enjoy From Home page. We also started adding preschool storytime readings and how-to workshops on our YouTube channel.
