COVID-19 Update

Collecting Household Hazardous Waste Monday through Friday

Manatee County’s Lena Road Landfill will be accepting Household Hazards Waste Monday through Friday from 8am – 5pm and every 3rd Saturday of the month from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., from residents only. For the safety of our customers and staff, the handling of items has changed.  Customers will be required to unload items from their vehicles with direction from staff on where to place items. Social distancing of 6 feet will be practiced by both staff and customers. Unincorporated Manatee County residents are asked to help keep waste collection staff safe by making sure their trash bags are tied.  Garbage must also be placed in bags and should not be loose in garbage containers.

Manatee County staff continue to serve the public and services will continue to operate despite the closure of public buildings. For unincorporated Manatee County the garbage, yard waste and recyclables are still being collected. The public is encouraged to conduct transactions with the county online or over the phone whenever possible.

Holiday collections

When a holiday falls on a scheduled pickup day, trash will be collected one day later than your scheduled pickup day for the rest of that week. Regular collection days resume the following Monday.

  • NEW YEARS DAY - Wednesday, January 1
  • PRESIDENTS' DAY - Monday, February 17
  • MEMORIAL DAY - Monday, May 25
  • 4TH OF JULY - Saturday, July 4
  • LABOR DAY  - Monday, September 7
  • THANKSGIVING DAY - Thursday, November 26
  • CHRISTMAS DAY - Friday, December 25

Community Cleanup Information and Schedule

Community Cleanups are for residential customers only.

Community cleanups do not cover the entire area of a community. You will receive a postcard about the community cleanup if you live in that area. Enter your address here to see if you are in an area with an upcoming Community Cleanup.

Items accepted a the curb:

  • Household trash
  • Yard waste
  • Appliances
  • Tires (limit 10)
  • Large items
  • Electronics

No Household Hazardous Waste will be collected. This includes oil, gas, paint, household chemicals, etc. You can dispose of these materials at the Lena Road Landfill, 3333 Lena Road, Bradenton (3rd traffic light east of I-75 off State Road 64) from Monday through Friday from 8am - 5pm and every third Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
