Appoint three (3) individuals to the Children's Services Advisory Board (CSAB) to serve 3-year terms from October 1, 2016, through September 30, 2019, and one (1) individual to serve a 2-year term from October 1, 2016, through September 30, 2018.

The Children's Services Advisory Board is comprised of 13 members. Terms of appointed members are for a period of three (3) years.
The terms of three members will expire on September 30, 2016. In addition, one member (Barbara Turner-Grace) whose term will expire on September 30, 2018, has resigned, leaving a two-year term available. Openings for the following positions were publicly advertised:
Term expirations are staggered and currently remain in force for the following positions: a member of the NAACP; a Department of Children and Families representative; a school board member; a United Way of Manatee representative; three (3) Child Advocates who are not affiliated with any agency receiving County funds.
Every member of the Advisory Board shall be required to disclose any employment with or position as an officer or director of any entity applying for or receiving funds from the millage dedicated to children's services. Members will disclose, in the manner provided by Section 112.3143, Florida Statutes, the affiliation of the member or the member's spouse with any organization applying through the Advisory Board for funding, which shall be limited to any membership or affiliation within the last calendar year.
There is one applicant for the Physician seat.
Physician Applicant: Select one (1) appointee to serve through 9/30/19.
There is one applicant for the Criminal Justice representative seat.
Criminal Justice representative Applicant: Select one (1) appointee to serve through 9/30/19.
There are 4 applicants for Child Advocate appointments. *Ordinance 91-42 restricts appointees for Child Advocate seats to those who are not affiliated with any agency receiving County funds. Information regarding applicants' affiliations with funded agencies was obtained from the applications submitted. Of the 4 applicants, 3 are eligible and have no affiliations with agencies funded by the County; one applicant, Charmian Miller, is ineligible for the Child Advocate seat due to an affiliation with a funded agency.
Eligible Child Advocate Applicants: Select one (1) appointee to serve a 2-year term through September 30, 2018; and Select one (1) appointee to serve a 3-year term through September 30, 2019.
Ineligible applicant: Charmian Miller - Applicant reported an affiliation with Jewish Family and Children's Services, which is an agency that receives funding from Manatee County.
