Authorization to award IFB #13-1121CD, 51st Avenue East at 15th Street East Intersection Improvements, to the lowest, responsive, and responsible bidder, Gator Grading & Paving, LLC of Palmetto, FL, for a total base bid of $1,593,281.56 (Bid "B", 150 calendar days), and authorize the County Administrator, or designee, to execute the Agreement and accept and date the Performance and Payment Bonds.

The Work consists of modifying the current intersection at 51st Avenue East and 15th Street East in Bradenton, Florida, by providing the following: left turn lanes in both directions on 51st Avenue East; relocation of 15th Street Court East from present location approximately 200 feet east to new location; construction of retention pond; construction of a pedestrian bridge; construction of a new sidewalk from 301 Blvd/15th Street East to existing sidewalk at 18th Court East; and construction of water and sewer utility relocations. Formal, competitive sealed bid procedures were followed resulting in a total of three (3) bidders submitting a sealed bid for consideration.

On August 19, 2013, a memorandum was received from Public Works Department recommending award to Gator Grading & Paving, LLC of Palmetto, FL 34221, for a total bid of $1,593,281.56 with a 150 calendar day completion time (Bid "B").
In addition to the funding sources indicated below, two Budget Amendment Resolutions (B-13-068/3 and B-13-068/6) appropriating $270,110.00 to the project will be presented to the Board of County Commissioners on September 10, 2013. Budget Amendment Resolution B-13-068/3 represents a transfer of $130,000.00 from the local option reserves fund to the Capital Improvement Project Fund (6029960). Budget Amendment Resolution B-13-068/6 represents a transfer of $105,000.00 of unused funds from various water projects to the Capital Improvement Project Fund (6029970) and a transfer of $35,110 of unused funds from various sewer projects to the Capital Improvement Project Fund (6029980).
