Background Discussion

With the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) construction project to widen SR 64 to 6 lanes from Carlton Arms Blvd to I-75, new landscaping has been installed from Morgan Johnson Rd to just west of I-75. This new landscaping will be maintained by the County as has been the previously landscaped section of SR 64 from 27th St E to Morgan Johnson Rd.

This new agreement replaces the original 2001 agreement that the BCC requested cancellation of on July 30, 2013. The costs noted on this agenda item are only for maintenance of the additional area that was not previously landscaped and not maintained by the County. It is estimated that additional area will cost $10,000 annually to maintain at the same standards as the adjoining section to the west.
