- On September 11, 2017, following reports that Monroe and Collier Counties received severe damages as a result of Hurricane Irma, the Fire Districts of Manatee County and the City of Bradenton Fire Department offered assistance through the State Emergency Response Plan (SERP).
- The Cedar Hammock, East Manatee, North River, Southern Manatee, and West Manatee Fire Districts, along with the City of Bradenton Fire Department dispatched a Fire Engine Strike Team and a Light Technical Rescue Team to the area of North Collier and Immokalee.
- These teams consisted of 28 personnel, five fire engines, one heavy rescue truck, two command vehicles, two fuel trailers, two utility trucks, and a light technical rescue trailer.
- On September 16, 2017, SERP requested an Emergency Vehicle Technician to respond to Monroe County to help repair fire and emergency vehicles deployed in the Florida Keys.
