Action Requested

Adoption of Resolution R-16-078 modifying the assessment roll for the Rubonia Street Lighting Municipal Service Benefit Unit (MSBU) by combing parcels owned by Herman Gay and Sonya Gay.

Background Discussion
  • August 13, 1991, the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) adopted Ordinance 91-66 which established the Rubonia Street Lighting Municipal Service Benefit Unit (MSBU).  The assessment was $19.00 per unit.
  • August 27, 1996, the BCC adopted R-96-196 which amended the assessment roll for Rubonia by decreasing the assessment to 10.00 per unit.
  • September 7, 1999, the BCC adopted Resolution R-99-153 which amended the assessment roll for Rubonia by increasing the assessment to $23.00 per unit.
  • August 14, 2001, the BCC adopted Resolution R-01-142 which amended the assessment roll for Rubonia by increasing the assessment to $24.80 per unit.
  • June 6, 2006, the BCC adopted Resolution R-06-96 which amended the assessment roll for Rubonia by increasing the assessment to $36.39 per unit.
  • August 25, 2009, the BCC adopted Resolution R-09-152 which amended the assessment roll for Rubonia by decreasing the assessment to $26.70 per unit.
  • September 9, 2014, the BCC adopted Resolution R-14-124 which amended the assessment roll for Rubonia by decreasing the assessment to $22.70 per unit.
  • Herman Gay and Sonya Gay are included in the Rubonia Street Lighting MSBU and have recently combined their parcels into one parcel.
  • The attached Modification Resolution needs to be adopted by the BCC to combine the parcels and modify the assessment roll for Rubonia.
