Adopt Resolution R-14-038 in support of Florida Department of Transportation request for funding and construction of a diverging diamond interchange at I-75 & University Parkway and associated capacity improvements on University Parkway between North Cattleman Road/Cooper Creek Boulevard and Market Street.
On March 6, 2014, Commissioner Vanessa Baugh, County Administrator Ed Hunzeker, Public Works Director Ron Schulhofer, and Public Works Deputy Director Sage Kamiya attended a meeting in Tallahassee for the purpose of expediting construction of the diverging diamond intersection at I-75 and University Parkway.
Attached is a resolution requested by the Florida Department of Transportation Secretary Ananth Prasad which is being presented to the Manatee County Commission confirming the agreement discussed at that meeting. The Sarasota County Commission will also be considering this same proposed Resolution.
