Action Requested
Authorize the County Administrator, or designee, to execute Amendment 8 to Agreement 11-1065FL for Utilities Odor and Corrosion Control Services with Evoqua Water Technologies, LLC, Sarasota, Florida, to extend the contract term for an additional six (6) months at an estimated cost of $1,416,266.

Background Discussion

Amendment 8 extends the contract term for six (6) months commencing July 1, 2017, and ending December 31, 2017, estimated at $1,416,266.  There are no renewal options remaining.

The extension is required to allow additional time for a new solicitation and the award process of a new Agreement.

Procurement History:

November 21, 2011, the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) approved a contract with Siemens Industry, Inc., in the amount of $2,505,000 for the first year for the provision of 24-hour maintenance and emergency response for odor and corrosion control services for approximately 100 equipment applications installed in the County's waste water systems. Pursuant to the contract, the contractor furnishes all necessary personnel, materials, supplies, and transportation, including assistance with evaluating and diagnosing odor complaints and related odor issues and cost estimating to establish objectives and monitoring programs to minimize odor and corrosion.

Since the inception of this Agreement, the following amendments have been executed to continue the aforementioned services:

  • Amendment 1: First renewal - $2,459,480 estimated
  • Amendment 2: Assignment from Siemens Industry, Inc., to Siemens Water Technologies, LLC, a subsidiary of Siemens Industry, Inc., and one year renewal estimated at $2,305,240
  • Amendment 3: Novation of name change to Evoqua Water Technologies, LLC
  • Amendment 4: one year renewal, estimated at $2,278,480
  • Amendment 5:  one year renewal, estimated at $2,766,151
  • Amendment 6: extending the contract term for three months commencing November 21, 2016, and ending February 28, 2017, estimated at $746,435.
  • Amendment 7: extending the contract term for four months commencing March 1, 2017, and ending June 30, 2017, estimated at $995,247.
