Authorize the County Administrator or his designee to execute Change Order 2 to Work Assignment 27 to Agreement 11-1569BG: Engineering Services for Utilities Engineer of Record with Carollo Engineers, Inc., in the amount of $137,442.00 for a revised total amount of $5,023,227.00, and extending the services by 672 days.

Background Discussion

Change Order 2 to Work Assignment 27 provides for revised design changes subsequent to the selection of the filter supplier and the following revised schedule:

  • Preliminary Design - March 2014 to February 2016
  • Membrane Procurement Documents - April 2014 to May 2016
  • Membrane Supplier Evaluation and Pilot Testing - March 2015 to March 2017
  • Design Phase - March 2017 to March 2018
  • Bidding and Selecting a General Contractor - March 2018 to August 2018
  • Construction Phase - September 2018 to January 2020

Change Order 2 increases the total Work Assignment in the amount of $137,442.00, which increases the total Work Assignment amount to $5,023,227.00 and extends services by 672 days.

Procurement History

On May 6, 2014, the Board of County Commissioners executed Work Assignment 27 with Carollo Engineers, Inc., in the amount of $4,885,785.00 for Design and Construction Phase Services for the Lake Manatee Water Treatment Plant Filter Upgrade with the following preliminary schedule:

  • Preliminary Design - February 2014 to February 2016
  • Membrane Procurement Documents - April 2014 to May 2016
  • Membrane Supplier Evaluation and Pilot Testing - December 2014 to July 2015
  • Design Phase - August 2015 to March 2016
  • Bidding and Selecting a General Contractor - March 2016 to September 2016
  • Construction Phase - October 2016 to March 2018

On July 30, 2015, the County approved Change Order 1 to Work Assignment 27 to bring future Capital Improvement Plan funding current.
