Action Requested

Authorize the County Administrator or designee to execute Contract Change Order 1 Guaranteed Maximum Price Addendum to Agreement 16-0267JE, Construction Management at Risk Services for Manatee County Sheriff’s Office Warehouse / Freezer Building with Halfacre Construction Company of Sarasota, Florida, adding 46 days to the contract time, therefore increasing the project time from 216 days to 262 days. The new purposed completion date does not increase the project cost.

Background Discussion

Contract Change Order 1 Guaranteed Maximum Price Addendum to Agreement 16-0627JE adds contract days to allow for completion of additional work requested by the County. The additional work includes fire sprinkler upsizing, new security fence gate, and additional concrete sidewalk and driveway work. The additional days requested allow the Construction Manager time to complete the project.  The new completion date is February 1, 2018, and this change does not increase the project cost.

Procurement History

On May 24, 2016, the Board of County Commissioners approved Agreement 16-0267JE with Halfacre Construction Company to provide Construction Management at Risk Services for the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office Warehouse / Freezer Building in the not to exceed Preconstruction services fee of $17,420.00.

On February 7, 2017, the Board of County Commissioners approved the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) Addendum to Agreement 16-0267JE, in the not to exceed amount of $1,901,615.10.
