Authorization for the Chairman to execute Florida Department of Environmental Protection Agreement #14ME4.
This is a new contract with Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) for reimbursement of the Longboat Pass Inlet Management Study performed and paid for by Manatee County and the Town of Longboat Key in FY 2011 & FY 2012. FDEP is disbursing available surplus funding at year end to several local governments with projects deemed eligible for funding, but for which State grant funding was not previously available. Manatee County's total cost for the Inlet Management Study was $186,999, which under the 75% State/25% Local cost share percentages would result in a reimbursement to Manatee County of $140,249. However, only $62,788 is available to be allocated by FDEP at year end for reimbursement of this project. Manatee County will be able to request the remainder of eligible funding in future years as funding becomes available. A separate agreement between the Town of Longboat Key and FDEP is being issued for the Town's share.
