Adopt Proclamation designating April 9-15, 2017, as "National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week" in Manatee County, Florida.
H.J. Resolution 284, passed by legislation on March 26, 1992
National Association of Public Safety Communications Officials
The National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week is held annually during the second week of April and is dedicated to the men and women who serve our communities as public safety telecommunicators.
During this week we recognize, honor and thank those who serve in this demanding profession. These communication professionals serve our community, citizens and public safety personnel. They are responsible for responding to telephone calls for police, fire and emergency medical assistance to help save the lives and property of those in our community. They are the unseen first responders.
These individuals often go unnoticed and should be applauded and held in the highest regard. Without their commitment, devotion, and hard work, countless number of lives and property would be in jeopardy.
We take this opportunity to thank all Manatee County Telecommunicators for the lifesaving work they do and to celebrate and honor these unseen heroes.
