Adoption of Resolution R-13-200 and Budget Resolution B-14-013, authorizing the submission and acceptance of a grant from the Florida Department of Health, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services, in the amount of $36,867; authorizing the County Administrator or designee to execute all related documents, and rescinding Resolution R-12-184.
Section 2- Purpose; page 1-11 of the Manatee County Comprehensive Plan; Protect the Public Health, Safety and Welfare.
Section 401.113(2)(b). F.S., Distribution of Grant Funds for Prehospital EMS Systems.
The EMS County Grant Award Program with the State of Florida Department of Health provides funding for improving and expanding Manatee County's prehospital emergency medical services system, and does not supplant existing budget allocations.
Not all EMS Stations are equipped with First-In Alerting Systems. The funding will be used to expand the alerting systems to all stations. A First-In Alerting System provides direct communication from CAD so that there is no time lapse waiting for a dispatcher to manually contact the EMS station.
