Approval to not request any real estate credits from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for the Manatee County Shore Protection Project.
On August 4, 1992, Manatee County executed a Local Cooperation Agreement with The Department of the Army for construction of the Manatee County Florida Shore Protection Project. Per Article IV - Value of Lands and Facilities, Section a., "The Local Sponsor shall receive a credit for the value of any lands, easements, and rights-of-way, including suitable borrow and dredged material disposal areas, provided for construction of the Project. Such credit shall be applied towards the Local Sponsor's share of total project cost...".
Due to research performed by the U.S. Army Corps and Manatee County, it was determined that Manatee County has no eligible real estate reimbursements or credits to claim for the period August 4, 1992, to September 30, 2015.
This agenda item just provides formal confirmation by the Board that Manatee County will not submit a reimbursement/credit request to the U.S. Army Corps due to no eligible expenditures to claim.
