Land Development Code Chapter 9, Section 911.3, Public Hearing Requirements for Vacation of Streets, Roads, and Other Appropriate Property. Section 336.09 and 336.10, et seq., Closing and Abandonment of Roads.

Background Discussion

The applicant, Peerage Land Company, LLC, is requesting vacation of a 40-foot unimproved road right-of-way. The platted right-of-way, also known as 30th Street East, runs north and south. The applicant seeks to vacate the portion of 30th Street East that separates lots 12, 13, and 16, from lots 3, 6, and 7. Peerage Land Company, LLC, plans to develop its property into a planned townhouse community. The applicant has submitted a General Development Plan to the Manatee County Building and Development Services Department for review.

Jurisdictional review by appropriate county departments and private utility companies serving the location to be vacated have been notified of the intention to file a vacation and have no objection. The vacation application complies with the technical requirements of the Manatee County Land Development Code and pertinent Florida Statutes. All expenses associated with the subject vacation will be paid by Peerage Land Company, LLC.

Manatee County's application filing fee of $800 has been paid.
