Background Discussion
  • Applicants Eric Tupin Grimes and Caroline Dawn Grimes, as Trustees under the Grimes Family Trust, and Robert R. and Susan L. Kubinski, and Nelda L. and Stafford E. Polk III are requesting vacation of 20' of unimproved platted right-of-way known as Drayton Street.
  • This is one of two vacation requests within the application  as submitted by authorized agent Leo Mills Jr. on behalf of the applicants.
  • This unimproved platted right-of-way runs North and South. It is located at 19th Avenue Northwest to the south, Davis Street to the north (per plat), 81st Street Northwest to the west, and Shaw's Point subdivision to the east that is separated by a hiatus currently owned by Eric and Caroline Grimes. 
  • The purpose for the request is for the mutual benefit of the applicants to eliminate illegal dumping and off street racing.
  • Eric Tupin Grimes and Caroline Dawn Grimes, as Trustees of the Grimes Family Trust, and Nelda L. and Stafford E. Polk III executed a Permanent Utilities Easement to Manatee County as a conditional requirement for approval of the vacation application.
  • The vacation complies with pertinent Florida Statutes and Manatee County Land Development Code.
  • Manatee County's application fee of $800.00 has been paid.
  • All expenses associated with the application will be paid by the applicants.
