Action Requested
Authorize the County Administrator or his designee to execute Change Order # 3 to Contract # 12-1881-DS with Gator Grading and Paving LLC, increasing the Contract amount by $72,421.25 from $2,809,773.53 to $2,882,194.78. The Contract completion date of June 29, 2014, remains unchanged.

Background Discussion

Change Order # 3 increases the Contract amount by $72,421.25 and provides for the relocation of an existing Advanced Traffic Management System cable and the replacement of a video detection camera pole and its controller cabinet.

Change Order # 2 provided for installation of a temporary traffic light strain pole and accommodated a change in design that impacts the lighting conductor connections, the traffic controller assembly, and the need for a directional bore to accommodate the new connectivity for the lighting. These changes resulted in the need for an additional 122 calendars days to the contract time extending the contract completion from February 27, 2014, to June 29, 2014.

Change Order # 1 provided for increasing the contract amount by $22,221.85 due to unforeseen changes in the field during the water main installation. Change Order # 1 added 66 calendar days due to installation delays on the water main and drainage structures, and adjusted the completion date from December 23, 2013, to February 27, 2014.

February 27, 2013, the BCC executed a contract with Gator Grading and Paving LLC in the amount of $2,712,272.52 for Construction of Roadway facilities.
