Action Requested
Authorization for the Chairman to waive the County Landfill tipping fees in the approximate amount of $7,015.00 by permitting the contractor for the Shaw's Point Stormwater Sediment Removal Project to haul the sediment from the project to the County Landfill for use as daily cover material, which will offset purchase and use of other daily cover purchased annually by Landfill operations.

Solid Waste Comprehensive Plan and the Solid Waste Franchise Agreement.

Background Discussion
  • January 14, 2013, Gator Dredging was issued a contract to remove sediment from three stormwater outfall areas in Shaw's Point. 
  • Dredging has begun and it is anticipated that approximately 115 cubic yards of sediment will be removed. This sediment will be dewatered in order to pass the paint filter test before transporting to the Landfill.
