Background Discussion
  • On July 9, 2014, a citizen visited Property Acquisition to inquire about purchasing a County-owned lot at 1610 30th Avenue West, Bradenton, Florida 34205, which neighbors their property.
  • Property Acquisition began the jurisdictional review process on July 14, 2014, based on procedures in place at that time.
  • Manatee County acquired the property on August 6, 2001, with transportation funding in simple fee via Warranty Deed, recorded in Official Record Book 1698, Page 7419, Public Records of Manatee County, Florida, from William W. Parker Sr. and Kathleen D. Parker.
  • This acquisition was required for the 30th Avenue West road improvement project for the intersection realignment at 14th Street West and 9th Street West.
  • An internal jurisdictional review response from Traffic Engineering requested retaining a portion of the property for future improvements. The objection was addressed and the property boundary was realigned to coincide with the planned right-of-way width in the comprehensive plan. A revised survey  provides an illustration of the new boundary.
  • Jurisdictional review responses from all other departments had no objection to classify the property as surplus.    
  • The 2014 tax assessed value is $9,700.00.
