The State of Florida has designated January 23-27 as Severe Weather Awareness Week. The goal of Severe Weather Awareness Week is to promote preparedness by all Floridians for all types of hazards.
The Manatee County Division of Emergency Management will be sharing disaster planning information to highlight how to get ready for different types of Florida's severe weather including thunderstorms, tornadoes, fires, floods, and hurricanes.
The State of Florida is facilitating a statewide tornado drill on Wednesday, January 25th at 10:00 a.m. All Manatee County residents and visitors are encouraged to participate in the drill.
