Authorization for Chairman to execute the City of Bradenton Potable Water Agreement effective upon date of execution to September 30, 2032.
Section 125.01, Florida Statutes, Chapter 153, Florida Statutes, and Chapter 63-1598, Laws of Florida, as amended.
Manatee County has held a Potable Water Agreement with the City of Bradenton since April 29, 1975.
The City of Bradenton Potable Water Agreement with Manatee County expired on or about June 16, 1994 with an option to the City to extend terms of this agreement for an additional twenty (20) year period.
The intent of revising the City of Bradenton Potable Water Agreement was to update the information and incorporate all of the interlocal entities, such as Perico Island and Tropical Shores.
The Potable Water Agreement with Perico Island Water Supply expires on or about May 17, 2013.
The Potable Water Agreement with Tropical Shores expires on or about October 29, 2020.
Both of these agreements are incorporated in the attached City of Bradenton Potable Water Agreement for approval.
The Agreement specifically determines and includes the location of the eight (8) active meters by which each party is connected.
In addition to the active meters, the City is connected to the County's potable water system by eleven (11) emergency interconnections which have also been specifically determined and located. The emergency interconnections are designed to assist both parties with maintaining potable water service to their customers in the event of loss of service of either party's potable water system.
On November 14, 2012, the Bradenton City Council unanimously approved the Potable Water Agreement with Manatee County.
The City of Bradenton Potable Water Agreement would commence upon execution by both parties and continue for twenty (20) years until the date of September 30, 2032.
The Agreement, upon agreement by both parties, may also be renewed for one (1) additional period of ten (10) years until the date of September 30, 2042.
