Bus and Trolley Schedules

Manatee County Area Transit (MCAT) route to Lakewood Ranch begins Jan. 3.  The new service is an extension of MCAT’s Route 6 which currently now serves the Cortez Road corridor from Bradenton Beach to DeSoto Station. The new route (download below) will stretch Route 6 east along State Road 70, from DeSoto Station to the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) on Lakewood Ranch Boulevard. The new route connects the Gulf beaches to major employment, residential and education centers, including the Manatee Technical College’s main campus on State Road 70 with its east campus on Lakewood Ranch Boulevard.

To promote the new route, there will be no bus fare in January for riders boarding the bus anywhere east of DeSoto Station. Regular fare of $1.50 will begin Feb. 1, 2015. Unlimited ride buss pass options are also available with savings that accrue with more frequent travel.

Local fixed route bus operates Monday – Saturday 5:30am – 8pm. Anna Maria Island Trolley operates daily, 6am – 10:30pm. Longboat Key Trolley operates daily, 5:30am – 8pm. The Beach Express operates Sunday/Holidays, 9am – 5pm.
