Survey Control Recovery
To further enhance the quality of the data, Manatee County has develop a simple method for surveyors to report the recovery of existing control:
See the "Survey Control" interactive map on the Information Technologies Department,
The Survey Division has created an opportunity for you to become a piece of history.
By ordering the naming rights to a benchmark, you can choose to commemorate a persons name. The name is stamped onto a metal disk, then attached to a stable structure. Once the monument is set and vertical data is gathered, the data along with the name will be sent to the National Geodetic Survey where it will be archived and available for public retrieval.
