Image Benchmarks

Since 2008, Manatee County has embarked on new countywide network of high quality, high precision benchmarks to support the flood maps that became effective on March 17, 2014. The completion of this effort is anticipated to be in early 2017.

Naming Rights

The Survey Division has created an opportunity for you to become a piece of history.

By ordering the naming rights to a benchmark, you can choose to commemorate a persons name. The name is stamped onto a metal disk, then attached to a stable structure.  Once the monument is set and vertical data is gathered, the data along with the name will be sent to the National Geodetic Survey where it will be archived and available for public retrieval.
