Easement - Conveyance and Dedication of Real Property

The acquisition and conveyance of real proerty to Manatee County for Capital Improvement Projects, Operational needs and Land Development requirements are managed by the Property Acquisition Division. All acquisition and acceptance of real property is under the jurisdiction of the Board of County Commissioners.

The Conveyance and dedication of real property can be accomplished with various forms of documents such as deeds, easements, and by dedication through a subdivision plat.

Exchange - Trading Real Property

Requests to exchange public land are regulated pursuant to Chapter 125.37 of the Florida Statutes, "Exchange of County Property". All County property is under the jurisdiction of the Board of County Commissioners.

To request an exchange of property, apply through the Property Acquisition Division of the Property Management Department. There is a filing fee of $800. The applicant will also be responsible for associated costs for advertising in the legal section of a local newspaper and recording the authorizing resolution, deeds and easements.

Vacate - Renounce Public Interest in Real Property

County owned property must apply through the Property Acquisition Division of the Property Management Department, as regulated pursuant to Chapters 117.101 and 336.09 of the Florida Statutes. There is a filing fee of $800. The applicant will also be responsible for associated costs for advertising in the legal section of a local newspaper and recording of the authorizing resolution.

Vacation requests for recorded subdivision plats, easements and road right-of-way that have been dedicatedfor a public purpose are regulated by the Florida Statutes and the Mantee County Land Development Code. All County property is under the jurisdiction of the Board of County Commissioners.
