Women's Business Centre Workshops
Dreaming about starting a business?
Explore the mindset of an entrepreneur, and learn what it takes to succeed in one or more of these workshops led by the Women’s Business Centre.
WED MAR 22: Intro to Business Planning
Do you need a business plan? Yes, you do! The business plan is not only required if you are searching for funding but it is your GPS for your business. It gives you direction on where you should go and what you should do. Fundamentally, a business plan will include a mission statement, business description, product description, market analysis, marketing, operations and management plan and financial projections. The process involved with developing a business plan will help you determine the feasibility as well as identify and mitigate risk.
TUE APR 18: The Power of Marketing
This workshop targets the pre-venture and start up entrepreneur who is beginning their journey. It defines the mindset of an entrepreneur and explains the various components of running a business. Learn the importance of branding, marketing and promoting your business along with developing a marketing plan, and find out cost-effective tools to help you.
TUE MAY 23: Social Media 101
In this interaction workshop, you’ll learn how to use the right social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to reach your target audience, build brand awareness, and develop a social media strategy that will produce results. To facilitate the posting process, learn how to use automation tools. If you are going to blog or tweet, what should your message to your followers be? How often should you do it? Should your business have a Facebook page? Bring your laptops.
